Sue's Sparklers laser-cut kits & AP
All of the appliques and applique kits are all pre-cut and ready to iron on. I mean, COMPLETELY iron-on. There are NO seams. The kits are built on quilt fuze which means that it is all 1" gridded on both sides and the rough side is fusible. So, the applique irons on, the center panel irons on, the 1" squares iron on and the borders iron on. Can anyone say 'Get it done?'. To finish it, I layer the finished top with light weight batting and backing and zig zag between the squares and the border to quilt. Free motion stitching around the applique adds more depth. If there is an iron on design or loose pcs. this is the time to iron them on. You can also just buy the applique and pick out your own background. The appliques are pretty much meant for wall hangings. If you want to apply them on to clothing, you'll need to stitch around the edges so that they will stand up in the laundry. Some of the appliques are using lite steam a seam 2 and these appliques will be launderable without stitching them down. The garments need to laundered without fabric softener first. This will help with shrinkage and sizing. Use a minimum of 20 seconds for steaming. More if you are going to stitch the applique. You really need to get the glue melted so your needle doesn't gum up. These appliques will be marked as launderable.
